about

Well... I don't really recall much from back then but did find this loving commentary in a dusty corner of the Amazon Website...
"The two Terminal 4 recordings (this and "When I'm Falling") have got to be some of the most lamentably underappreciated gems in contemporary jazz. Not a single Amazon review?! The tunes are straightforward and accessible yet consistently unconventional and inventive -- some haunting and eerie, some propulsive -- played with strikingly original instrumentation (cello, guitar, trombone, bass) operating resonantly in the lower registers. Pushes boundaries without being strident or abrasive. Quirky but not affected. Don't know quite what to compare it to, maybe John Hollenbeck in spirit but less about rhythm and more about melody. Stands up to much repeat listening. Two favorites in my collection, yet sadly out of print. Fortunately available as MP3 downloads, though. In a better world these folks would be putting out a steady stream of acclaimed recordings, but I guess it's been a number of years now since these two came out." ~ Mikael Karlstrom

I swear I do not know him.

On the other hand... When we had a cd release party/gig... snark queen Monica Kendrick wrote in the Chicago Reader... "TERMINAL 4 5/18, EMPTY BOTTLE You know, Chicago desperately needs another supergroup involving some configuration of the crowd that includes Fred Lonberg-Holm, Jeb Bishop, Josh Abrams, and Ben Vidaakjlskbvjwhjhjhbvzxs…oh, slap me with a fish, I’ve fallen asleep at the keyboard again"
So... there was that. :D

Anyway... I hope you like it. Thanks for listening!
